Please take a moment to download the Gearbox. In this issue you will find more details about the upcoming Summer Rally, MAR, and if you missed the Spring Rally, you can read up on its shenanigans.
The ROAV Board of Directors and its Officers are extremely proud and pleased to announce the 2010 MAR will be held on the Willow Hill Farm, right on the James River in Buckingham County. This years Mid Atlantic Rally marks the 35th anniversary of ROAV – originally known as ROAR (Rover Owners Association of Richmond). We are deep into planning the MAR and will be posting up more information as it becomes available. Save the Date - September 30 - October 3.
Don't forget - The Summer Rally will be held at Mountain Lake from July 30 – August 1. Take advantage of the discounted registration rate and register by Monday July 19th. You will receive a t-shirt with every registration! Regular registration will continue through July 26th.

Summer Rally Event weekend walk-up registrants are always welcome, but please keep in mind that having enough t-shirts cannot be guaranteed. Unfortunately, there is a "no pet" policy at Mountain Lake that we need to be mindful of.

ROAV 2010 Summer Rally
The ROAV Board of Directors and its Officers are pleased to announce the Nuts and Bolts Summer Rally at Mountain Lake.
Come join us the weekend of July 30 – August 1, 2010.
There will be three ride options this year. They include:
The Forest Service roads - which are public trails in the vicinity of the rally. Many of these trails are fairly easy.
The Wheatland Farm - which offers more of a challenge. Obstacles are a bit more difficult, so it’s best to go in groups of three or more and have appropriate recovery gear.
And Lastly, Potts Mountain – a well know OHV trail about 45 minutes from the rally - with the most challenging terrain and amazing views of the valley from the ridge line.
Register early!
The discounted pre-registration will remain open until midnight Monday, July 19th. Early registration helps us anticipate the number of t-shirts that will need to be ordered.
On-line registration will close at midnight on Monday, July 26th.
On-site registration at Rally Control will resume Friday and Saturday July 30th and 31st.
T-shirts may not be guaranteed, but we will have extras on hand while supplies last.
We are deep into the detail planning and will be posting more information as it comes available – so stay tuned!
We are looking for volunteers to help with the event. If you’d like to lend a hand, please let us know by sending an email to christina_roeschel@roav.org.

ROAV 2010 Spring Rally
Good day Land Rover enthusiasts!!
The Spring Rally is this weekend!
On-Line registration will remain open until Wednesday May 19th and on-site registration at the Montebello Pavilion will resume Friday and Saturday May 21st and 22nd.
Join us at the Pavilion on Saturday and enjoy a BBQ dinner catered by the Hickory Notch Grill - a longtime friend of ROAV.
BBQ pork, beans, coleslaw, hush puppies, brownies, iced tea and lemonade will be served, followed by the announcement of the Trail Clean up winner and the ROAV raffle.
